This is a picture of my face. I bravely made the decision to grow out my bangs in 2020, a year of great tumult (for my hair). I have done other brave things too but this is probably the biggest one.

Hi! I’m Karen and I’m an Emmy & WGA award-nominated comedian and writer. Welcome to my page!!!1!~*

Since you’re probably here to read about me ol’ career… I recently wrote for the new Mike Schur/Ted Danson comedy that’s coming out this winter, as well as for the second season of Apple TV’s Pachinko, which will premiere in August. I’m currently on a deal making ~new stuff~ for Sony Pictures Television.

Previously, I wrote and appeared on-camera for Late Night with Seth Meyers for 4+ years. I also wrote for the Golden Globes (2019, 2021), acted in HBO’s High Maintenance and FOX’s The Great North, and contributed regularly to The New Yorker. If you like public radio, you might also catch me on NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! where I am a regular panelist and occasional guest host.

As a comedian, I’ve performed at cool places like Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Greek Theater, and many dank basements in New York. I was also featured on Vulture’s Comedians to Know, Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood, and Forbes 30 Under 30 (a little cringe, I know).

About me ol’ personal life… I grew up in the Bay Area, where I spent my childhood playing soccer and going to Costco. In college I majored in History & Literature and minored in taking improv too seriously. After some years living with my grandparents in South Korea, I now live, laugh, and love in Brooklyn.
